UBC - Cans
Can Processing Machines (UBCs)
Used beverage cans, also known as UBCs (Used Beverage Cans), are made of 100 percent aluminum. This ensures that they can be recycled indefinitely without any loss of quality. This recycling process is particularly advantageous because it requires only 5 percent of the energy used to produce primary aluminum, making it extremely energy and environmentally efficient.
To reduce expense and environmental impact during transportation, cans are normally compacted into packs. For further processing, the material must be shredded using specialized machinery such as ALPHA twin-shaft crushers and FAF and MINIMILL series hammer mills. This processing allows the aluminum of which they are composed to be fully reused while also making it possible to separate any contaminants by magnetic separation.
In conclusion, shredding and recycling of UBCs not only contributes to environmental sustainability, but also represents a significant economic opportunity by enhancing the value of a valuable material such as aluminum.
