Beyond any credited theory and while in the spirit of sustainable economics, it should not be forgotten that scrap is the unintended result of the industrial economy and consumer society-no one produces scrap to order.
Scrap is not born as raw material, it is born as waste that can be turned into raw material because there is a way to reuse it and because there is a market for it.
Scrap is collected, processed, bought, reused and has value only if there is a demand for scrap from steel mills and manufacturers of new products.
The scrap user is the backbone of the recycling supply chain because, in a market economy, without a market, without someone willing to buy it, scrap would have no value, no one would collect it, and it would be dispersed.
Scrap must be collected, processed, and transported in accordance with legal regulations and conferred according to the standards and requirements of the end principal, namely
- clean to reduce emissions and not waste resources.
- in the appropriate size to reduce transport and optimize the load in the basket,
- categorized, with known and certain commodity composition,
DELTA counter-rotating blade shears with low rotational speed and high torque solve the problem of shearing any waste and production waste such as: bulky waste in general, industrial scraps, metal containers, light scrap, collection scrap, heavy scrap (max. thickness 3 mm), etc…
Extreme versatility to different applications places rotary shears as the primary element and solution for coarse crushing of those materials for which size reduction is required for disposal or recovery or subsequent sorting operations.
Rotating shears, having the crushing chamber open and working at low speed, do not, during crushing, cause dangerous explosions and fires, such as may occur in the closed crushing chamber of hammer mills, as a result of the high temperatures reached, the high speeds of rotation, the combination of powders, the atomization of petrochemicals, and the sparks produced.
For this reason, rotary shears are also used upstream of hammer mills to material and break up any containers of gases, flammable liquids, fuels, oils and fuels, freeing them from their contents, which will be recovered by appropriate capture, filtering and abatement systems.
Rotary shears are intended for companies such as:
❖ scrap recovery and trading companies
❖ crushing plants equipped with hammer mills
❖ secondary raw material recovery and sorting companies
❖ WEEE recovery companies
❖ etc.
Why DELTA rotary shears?
DELTA hydraulic counter-rotating blade shears are used to reevaluate light scrap, heavy collection, household appliances, reclaimed end-of-life cars, etc., reducing them to such a size that the ferrous part can be separated from metals and aggregates, with the downstream use of appropriate magnetic systems.
Counter-rotating blade shears can also be used in scrap crushing and sorting plants upstream of hammer mills, for coarsely and homogeneously mixed-voluminous materials such as light scrap, collection, household appliances, sheet metal and boxed goods up to 3 mm thick, reclaimed end-of-life cars, etc., so as to facilitate both feeding and crushing.
In particular:
- Reduce the size of the scrap, sometimes larger than the mill inlet, to avoid clogging and allow proper and continuous flow of material to the hammers
- Significantly increase the hourly output of the hammer mill because it is fed with pre-crushed and homogeneously sized materials
- reduce the energy costs of the crushing plant, with constant consumption without peak absorption.
- Ensure a longer service life of the , grids and hammers
- minimize production costs
- They ennoble small plants by putting them in a position to receive and process materials instead intended for higher-performance mills
They are used to shred heavy transport, earthmoving and dump truck tires, bulky and bulky
materials to reduce transportation costs and make them palatable for disposal or
recovery.
